West Nile Innovation Hub
Cohort 2 in Intensive Phase

West Nile's agribusinesses, scaled for market.

WNAAP is WNIH's running post-incubation accelerator. Two cohorts, 18 enterprises, real off-take deals — and a growing track record of turning validated West Nile agribusinesses into investment-ready, market-competitive ventures.

Why WNAAP Exists

The gap after incubation — and how this program closes it

West Nile's agriculture has enormous potential. But enterprises exiting pre-incubation and incubation often plateau at the validation stage — right before scale. Post-incubation support has historically been the weakest link in the local enterprise development chain.

WNAAP was built to fix that. Designed and run by the West Nile Innovation Hub (WNIH) under its regenerative and inclusive food systems mandate, it takes validated agribusinesses and pushes them into reliable markets, bankable records, and growth capital.

Cohort 1 graduated fifteen enterprises — several now with signed buyer contracts. Cohort 2 is in the intensive phase right now, running weekly mentorship and closing its first deals.

What we do: move post-incubation agribusinesses from validated to commercially sustainable — through structured mentorship, buyer linkage, and investor readiness.

What Every Cohort Achieves

Five outcomes the program is built around — and tracks

Fast-track growth

Revenue growth, wider customer base, and operational scale inside the six-month intensive.

Open market access

Real links to off-takers, aggregators, and institutional buyers — with formal entry strategies.

Investor readiness

Bankable records, compliance, governance — and a real pitch to financiers at Demo Day.

Value chain integration

Enterprises embedded with input suppliers, logistics, and processors into coordinated chains.

Peer network

An active cohort and alumni network that keeps giving referrals and collaboration.

Who WNAAP Is For

Enterprises that have already done the foundational work

  • Agribusinesses (farms, processors, aggregators, input providers, logistics) that have completed pre-incubation and incubation under WNIH or partner programs (UDB EDP, Opportunity Bank MSME Accelerator, FAO initiatives).
  • Enterprises with proven market validation — real customers, product-market fit — and looking for the acceleration push.
  • Priority for enterprises in WNIH focus areas: regenerative food systems, nutritious value chains, inclusive agribusiness.

How the Program Runs

Two integrated workstreams — running in parallel, every week

01

Market Access & Value Chain Integration

Closing the gap between production capacity and reliable demand

Readiness Diagnostics & Market Strategy

  • Per-enterprise diagnostics: market position, quality, pricing, distribution.
  • Tailored Market Access Plans with concrete targets and timelines.
  • Gap analysis against buyer requirements — volume, certification, packaging, logistics.

Buyer-Led Mentorship & Linkage

  • Structured engagements with off-takers, processors, aggregators, and institutional buyers (schools, hospitals, hospitality).
  • Forward-contract facilitation — advance volume commitments from real buyers.
  • Buyer mentorship sessions where buyers articulate requirements directly.

Standards & Compliance

  • UNBS certification and quality-compliance support for priority chains.
  • Global GAP alignment where export potential exists.
  • Direct introductions to UNBS, MAAIF, URA, URSB.

Value Chain Coordination

  • Mapping and strengthening links to Farmer Service Centers and aggregation models.
  • Input-supply (seeds, fertilizer, equipment) and logistics partnerships.
  • Post-harvest handling and storage optimization.
Delivery: one-to-one mentorship (min. 50 hours per enterprise), buyer engagement sessions, and targeted group workshops.
02

Scale-Up & Investment Readiness

Building the financial and operational foundation for growth capital

Financial Management & Bankability

  • Strengthened bookkeeping, costing, break-even, cash flow.
  • Tax compliance and formalization (URA, URSB, NSSF).
  • Investor-ready financial documentation — plans, projections, due diligence packs.

Investment Readiness & Access to Finance

  • Investor-ready bootcamp: pitching, presentation, investor Q&A.
  • Structured engagement with UDB, Opportunity Bank, SACCOs, MFIs.
  • Introduction to grant, blended-finance, and impact-investment opportunities.
  • Demo Day at close: curated pitches to real investors.

Operational Scale-Up & Governance

  • Capacity plans for production, quality systems, and staffing.
  • Governance: board advisory, succession, risk management.
  • Digital tools for operations, sales, and market intelligence.

Alumni Network & Continued Support

  • Structured alumni community — peer learning, referrals, collaboration.
  • 12-month light-touch performance monitoring.
  • Alumni convenings and access to WNIH platform resources.
Delivery: intensive one-to-one mentoring (min. 50 hours), masterclasses, and structured investor engagement.

What Makes WNAAP Different

Three distinctions that matter in West Nile

Post-Incubation Specific

Built for enterprises that finished pre-incubation and incubation — the "missing middle" other programs skip.

Dual Market–Finance Focus

Market access and investment readiness are integrated, not split into separate tracks.

West Nile Anchored

Grounded in regional value chains, buyers, and institutional relationships WNIH has already built.

Already Delivering in West Nile

WNAAP is running. Cohort 1 graduated 15 enterprises. Cohort 2 is mid-intensive with 11 deals already signed and UGX 420M mobilised. Each cycle grows a bigger pipeline of scalable, sustainable agribusinesses — creating jobs, raising incomes, and strengthening the regional food system.
